About paint correction
Machine polishing removes a microscopic layer of clear coat to level out swirl marks, light scratches and haze. How far we can take it depends on how deep the damage goes and how much paint there is to work with.
We start with a transparent process. We want to get to know you and your car, look at the paint under proper light, and tell you honestly what one, two or three stages will and will not achieve.
James trained in paint correction with General Motors Holden. We use the Rupes polishing system and BigFoot machines, and we take the time each panel needs rather than the time a schedule allows.

A machine polisher and abrasive polish remove a very thin layer of clear coat to level the surface, which removes or reduces swirl marks, light scratches and haze. One stage is a single refining polish, two stage adds a cutting step, and three stage is for heavily marked paint.
Deep scratches that go through the clear coat cannot be polished out. We will tell you at the inspection what is realistic for your paint.
What is the difference between paint correction and detailing?
Detailing is a thorough clean of the inside and outside of the car. It makes the car look its best but does not change the paint itself.
Paint correction is machine polishing that physically removes defects like swirl marks from the clear coat. It is usually done before a ceramic or graphene coating so the coating locks in a corrected finish.
Is a vehicle inspection required before booking?
Yes. A preliminary inspection is required before any work starts. It lets us set expectations and give you a no-obligation quote. We can come to you, or you can come to us in Klemzig.
How much does paint protection cost?
Ceramic coating starts from $660 and graphene coating from $770 for a small car, rising to $1,100 for an SUV or 4WD. Paint correction starts from $330. All prices include GST.
